Galveston's Beaches

It's ISLAND Time!

Popular Beach Parks
Whether you're wanting to catch your dinner, surf the waves, or relax while the kids build sandcastles, Galveston boasts many beaches with plenty to offer for everyone!

Over 10 miles long, the Galveston Seawall was built after the destruction of the hurricane of 1900, known on the Island as simply "The Great Storm".

As any coastal town, hurricanes are a natural threat, but the Seawall has protected the Island from every storm since The Great Storm and continues to serve as a highly functional barrier between the ocean and the people.

Today, the Seawall is as much entertainment as it is function.  Bars, restaurants, bike rentals, shops, and more line the Seawall, so beach lovers never have to leave the sand for long!
